A kaleidoscope is where several mirrors are placed at an angle to one another.
Typically there are three rectangular mirrors set at 60° to each other so that they form an equilateral triangle. The 60° angle generates an infinite regular grid of duplicate images of the original, with each image having six possible angles and being a mirror image or not.
As the tube is rotated, the tumbling of the coloured objects presents varying colours and patterns. Arbitrary patterns show up as a beautiful symmetrical pattern created by the reflections.
This effect will be the main element of my final assignment.
I sourced most of the footage from horror movie trailers, as they have very fast edits and a lot of strange imagery. I wanted to make it as strange and confusing as possible, with screaming and lots of visual layering. I edited on Adobe Premiere Pro.
I recored my brother as well as myself just making noises that just came to mind at the time. I edited in Adobe Premiere Pro and exported in MOV, converted it to MP3 and then uploaded it to Sound Cloud.
This image is collage of myself. I took inspiration from Julien Pacaud. Mainly the use of symmetry and the otherworldly feel.
I used photoshop to portray myself as a superior being. I found images mainly just on a google web search, but I had a photographs of myself in a wedding dress.
This audio clip was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro and was exported at a MOV file. I then uses a online converter to turn it into a MP3 file. This clip is a remix of a song by Ylvis and CreepyPasta. Both sourced from Youtube.
The news is always so loud, always trying to keep our attention and tell us the most amount of information in the shortest amount of time possible. I wondered what the negative space of all that information would look like.
